Don’t forget to sign up for the Hackney School Governors’ Conference on the 29th Jan 2017 at 10am to 1:15pm at the Tomlinson Centre. Get more info from HLT Governor Services: Governorservices@learningtrust.co.uk
We have one vacancy on our HASGA Executive. Any Hackney school governor is eligible to join as long as you have access to email. We currently only have one secondary governor and no academy or free school governor on the Exec. It would be good to have someone from that phase/types of schools.
Fiona Millar’s PowerPoint presentation is available to download from our documents’ page.
Our AGM is tomorrow at 6pm in the HLT building, meeting rooms 1&2, 3rd floor. Fiona Millar will be leading the discussion. See Meetings on Home page for more info. All Hackney governors welcome!
We have 2 vacancies on our Executive Committee. The Executive meets once or twice a term to organise meetings, update each other on governance issues etc. We also mentor chairs, help governing bodies with confidential issues, help schools find governors for HR, parental or exclusion panels when needed. We liaise with the local authority and have a co-opted place on Hackney Council’s Children & Young People Scrutiny Commission. Please think about joining us and don’t forget to make sure your governing body is represented at our AGM on the 29th November at 6pm.
The Fisher Family Trust provides data and analysis to schools, LAs and the DfE. To learn how to use their data take one of their courses or webinars.
Many Hackney schools take their pupils to Kench Hill for their school journey. Kench Hill are now looking for people to join the Friends of Kench Hill. If you’re interested, for more information please read the letter on the Documents page of our website.
The agenda for Monday’s meeting is available from the Documents’ page.
Our first meeting of the school year is on the 26th September. Come and share your ideas on how HASGA can help your governing board become or stay outstanding.
